An in-depth preview of the girls' events for the 2009 VHSL Group AA State Indoor Championships to be held Saturday, February 28th at Liberty University's Tolsma Track Center. Overview of each event as well as top 8 predictions.
The Blacksburg girls could double the team score of the runner-up team thanks to events such as the 1600 meter run which they have the top four seeds in. No state meet records appear to be seriously threatened, but there are several athletes back to defend their state titles as well as others capable of winning two titles including Joanna Stevens in the 1600 and 1000, Krystal Parrish in the long jump and triple jump, and Danyelle Kent-Robinson in the high jump and 55 meter hurdles.
