Glen Allen junior Mason Henry is a name you should remember. He leads the state in the triple jump and is coming for that first state title this spring at Todd Stadium. His leading mark of 47-5.5 is also the 72nd best triple jump mark in the entire nation. He ranks 11th in the state in long jump as well.
Mason Henry's Athlete Profile
Though his 47'+ mark is impressive, what is even more impressive is how consistent he has been this season. He has racked up five invitational wins and has jumped 43-3.5 or further in every competition this year including three times over 45-2. That level of consistency could very well win him the 5A State title this June.
Indoors he jumped 45-0 but finished 5th at the state meet with his 44-10 mark. Chauncey Chambers' 48-9.75 was the winning mark so it is safe to say you will need a 49' mark this June to win the event. That is certainly in Mason's wheel-house.
Glen Allen historically has had three individual state champions and two relay state champions. In total six individuals have ever won a track state title at Glen Allen. If he were to win, he would join Sade Hargrove as the only other field event state champion and he would be the first on the guys' side. Remember this junior's name!
