Mathew McKiver (Annandale)
Another athlete getting overshadowed is Mathew McKiver. He may not be Trey Causey but he currently shares the state lead with him! He finished second indoors in the 6A competition and after a huge season thus far could go for the win next weekend for Annandale.
His indoor best this year was 6-7 but only jumped 6-4 at states. Outdoors though he has been consistently improving and proving people he belongs. Now the state competition is historically a rough competition. Meaning it usually will come down to the second to last height and misses. If he is able to get to 6-8 without any misses he will certainly be in the driver seat for that first state title.
