It could be a long weekend yet again for the 3A/4A State Meet. Perhaps there will even be a bonus day of competition with a long line of storms headed straight for Harrisonburg. Friday's competition though looks like it will be run without any changes. Saturday is the day to watch.
Despite whatever mother nature throws at them though we are certain they will get the meet in and crown some state champions this weekend.
The biggest titles up for grabs this weekend will be the state team titles. You have classifications with close team battles and one with what seems to be a landslide. The landslide one is likely going to be the 4A boys with Loudoun Valley looking for a huge win. Blacksburg is a strong second in the virtual meet.
Boys 4A Virtual Meet - Girls 4A Virtual Meet
In the 4A girls competition though things could be tough for the Deep Creek Hornets. They won the indoor title but outdoors is a little tougher all around. E.C. Glass and Loudoun County though will not make it easy and are also in contention for this title.
In the 3A competition Phoebus is looking for the sweep. They have a solid lead in the girls' competition ahead of Heritage and I.C. Norcom but the boys have their hands full. In fact they don't even lead the competition and it is Western Albemarle leading the competition with a huge distance and field event punch. Lakeland and Tabb also bring some serious punch to the meet.
Though we can speculate all we want, you gotta run the meet and see how everything turns out.
