Keilah Tyson and Sydni Cobb (both pictured above by Brandon Miles) have the Western Branch girls out to great start for the 2009-2010 season as the state leaders in their respective events. Tyson is top ranked on the track (7.04 55m) and in the field events (5'8" high jump), while Cobb is the only female thrower over 40 feet in the shot put.
The first edition of the Virginia high school indoor track team power rankings. These rankings were calculated by scoring the rankings as a meet. We took the individual rankings and relay rankings and scored them as a normal meet: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. The power rankings favor teams with a few top tier individual stars who can score a bulk of the points than the depth rankings.
