Paul McElroy was the most important runner in the meet at Saturday's Chesapeake Invitational. While only finishing in 39th place with a time of 18:45. McElroy's individual performance as Hickory's sixth man was the final determining factor in giving his team the win over Kellam with both teams tallying 83 points. Princess Anne's Matthew Schwartzer proved his win at Fork Union earlier was no fluke in defeating his top competition in the Eastern Region with a 16:05 victory. With Ocean Lakes at Maymont this weekend, Princess Anne girls took advantage to seize some gold for once while Kellam's Abby Motley outdueled star freshmen Rachel Kling of Hickory for the win at Bells Mill Park.
