The depth and quality of competition continues to grow each year in high school cross country within the state of Virginia and the 2011 edition of the Virginia High School League Cross Country Championships will showcase this great abundance of great talent in runners, teams, and coaching.

Group A Boys - The defending team champions Altavista will not be back to repeat as they were unable to advance out of an always competitive Region B Championships as they placed fifth last week in Charlottesville. Meanwhile, Lebanon's Jon Ulrich will have his work cut out for him to defend his individual crown from a year ago as shown with a fourth place finish at the Region D Championships.
