Matoaca's Brianna Hayes tied 3 others as US leader in high jump with a clearance of 5'8" on Saturday at the winter break clinic invitational meet held at the Arthur Ashe Center in Richmond. Hayes has a history of jumping well without spikes in the Arthur Ashe Center as her previous meet at the Ashe Center was last year's Central Region Indoor Championships with a meet record breaking performance and indoor personal best of 5'8.25". The current VA #12 all-time indoor performer in the event, the Matoaca junior Hayes will be seeking her second straight Group AAA state indoor title this season as well as become an All-American once again.
