Waynesboro junior Stuart Vailes was the most improved runner from last year's state meet as he dropped nearly 2 minutes off his time to finish 45th in the 3A boys race with a time of 17:31. A remarkable improvement from his 101st place finishing time of 19:24 in 2016 at Great Meadow.
