Only a select few of past 9th grade girls in Virginia have broken 40 seconds in the 300 meter dash, but two went well under that time this season in Group AAA All-State performers Patrick Henry's Tiffany Harris (39.51) and Nansemond River's Brandee Johnson (39.67). Johnson also ran on Nansemond River's state champion 4x200 and ranked as among the fastest freshmen in the 55 and 500 meter dashes as well. Maggie Walker's Emma Call led the distance runners with a near sub 3 minute 1000 at the AAA State Indoor Meet for All-State honors and will be racing in the freshmen mile at the New Balance Indoor Nationals. Katrina Barredo of Western Albemarle has a bright future in the pole vault after becoming a state runner-up in the Group AA State Meet. MileStat.com lists the top 50 freshmen girls performances in each event from this past indoor season in Virginia.
