Girls Highlights
Like two weeks ago at the Brian Watkins I-95 Invite, James Wood senior Amber Hawkins (photo by Brandon Miles) was once again a double winner in the distance events but this time in the 1600 and 3200 at Ram Country Invite instead of the 1600 and 800 at Brian Watkins. Without much competition facing mainly small school runners, the University of Houston recruit Hawkins cruised to winning times of 5:22 in the 1600 and 11:35 in the 3200 at Strasburg High School.

Boys Highlights
Last spring's Group AA state discus throw runner-up Justin Neff (photo by Andrew Kicinski) of Millbrook opened up his outdoor season with a mark of 150'8" at the Ram Country Invitational on Saturday in Strasburg. Neff started off his high school career at Sherando before moving to cross town school Millbrok for his junior year, which culminated with a personal best throw of 155'0" to become the state runner-up in the discus last June at the 2012 Group AA State Meet in Harrisonburg.
