
MileStat.com visited the Washington-Lee High School team on Thursday morning in Arlington, which their girls were ranked #1 in the state of Virginia in our composite computer pre-season team rankings taking into account track times as well as cross country times. The track times certainly weighed heavily for the Washington-Lee girls to be ranked so high compared to the other historic cross country team powers in one of many ways to figure out who might be the top returning XC teams this fall. There is reason for great optimism and high expectations for the Washington-Lee girls after a fantastic outdoor track season for their distance crew which saw them destroy the school record in the 4x800 meter relay breaking 9:20 and finishing 3rd (9:18.18) in the Group AAA State Meet, while having a hoard of big PR drops among their top returning individuals.
