Group 5A Girls (Friday 11:45 AM) Preview: The Mills Godwin girls had to often run in the shadows of storied programs Midlothian and Maggie Walker in the former Central Region, but now the spotlight shines on them in the new classification system as the Lady Eagles are the front runners to claim the 5A state title in cross country this weekend. The Godwin girls could potentially not only win their school's first state title, but win big with three individiduals capable of All-State top 15 finishes including race favorte Katharine Benfer, Sarah Goodrich, and Hannah Bullen having all ventured in the 18 minute range for 5K at some point this season.
