ANNVILLE, PA -- The Mary Washington College and Roanoke College both had strong performances in a close team battle in the men\'s 8K race at the Lebanon Valley Invitational. Roanoke College senior Jacob Pack (3rd, 26:40.38) was the top finisher among the two teams, but it was the Eagles from Mary Washington who came out on top between the two Virginia schools with their team total of 104 points for third place. Mary Washington put four runners in the top 25 with junior Matt Kirk (8th, 27:06.41), junior Jake Rod (20th, 27:33.93), sophomore Jason Call (22nd, 27:37.45), and freshmen Craig Condon (23rd, 27:39.37). Behind Pack, Roanoke College had two other top 25 finishers with sophomore Zack Tembi (18th, 27:28.38) and senior Rob Welch (21st, 27:36.02) as the Maroons finished fifth (116 pts) in the 17 team field. The Mary Washington women (150 pts), running without number one runner Erin Connelly, finished sixth overall and three places ahead of the Roanoke College women (216 pts). The Lady Eagles were paced by sophomore Whitney Gray (17th, 21:08.30) as the squad showed they are still the D3 team in the state to beat by placing four runners ahead of Roanoke College\'s top finisher, Bridget Tainer (40th, 21:56.66).
