Gus Lacy Track Classic Highlights: Light rain and cool temperatures throughout the day did not keep the Gus Lacy Track Classic from being another classic held at Fork Union. The meet featured a US #6 4x800 performance by the Forest Park boys at 7:55.37, thrilling finishes in all three boys distance races, and the Manchester boys showing their strength outside of an injured Anthony Chesson.
Leading up to the start of the first running events, it appeared it would be a miserable day at Fork Union with the rain coming down harder than expected. However, the rains lightened up just in time for the AAA state indoor champion 4x800 meter relay squad from Forest Park. However, the Bruins had a different lineup from that sub 8 minute indoor squad at Gus Lacy as they threw on their top sprinter in Alex Feldman, who won the 400 meter dash later in 49.88.
