GLADE SPRING, VA -- The 2001 Judy Thomas Invitational brought together many of the top AA and A in the southwestern part of the state. Two teams that stood out from the rest were the Marion girls and Abingdon boys track teams.
The Marion girls put together 78 points, ahead of second place Abingdon with 66 points with the help of Quesenberry's double win in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash.
The Abingdon boys just edged out host school Patrick Henry's 90 points with their total of 95 as Derek Webb's double win in the 800 meter run and 1600 meter run were big helps to the Abingdon win.
