Check out a video interview from Flocasts with two of the better half milers produced out of Virginia in Hayfield grad Nikeya Green and Petersburg grad Nicole Cook (both pictured above from Flocasts.com). Before their was Sarah Bowman, these two ladies were some of the best ever Virginian preps at the 800 meter distance. Both Green and Cook are running professionally now for Reebook after competing collegiately at Wake Forest (Green) and Tennessee (Cook) respectively. Green finished up her high school career just prior to the creation of MileStat.com in December of 2000, while Cook was part of the first class of athletes in the MileStat.com era as a 2001 Group AAA state champion in the 300 and 500 meter dash indoors and 800 meter run outdoors. Green is still the current AAA State Meet record holder in the 800 meter run from her 2:09.30 2000 state championship. Both competed in the women's 800 meter run on Saturday, July 7th in a meet in Belgium.
