7. Gannon Willcutts (3A - Friday)
If you want to know one name to really watch on Friday then this is it. Gannon, who basically has an apartment in Andrew Hunter's shadow, will finally get to race on a course that isn't rediculously hard and face off with Hunter. Gannon has been racing on some pretty tough courses like Maymont, Albemarle, and Blacksburg and has only lost to Matthew Novak in close races. By doing that and still running impressive times he has really snuck by many people's eyes. 15:45 isn't amazing but when you look at the courses he is running then you start to see he is really underrated. Gannon, at least in our opinion, can really have a breakout race Friday and run low 15's.
Low 15's.... Yes, that means Andrew Hunter may finally have some company. If this race is cold and windy and Andrew opens slow, do not be shocked to see someone next to him through most of the race and even down the stretch.
