In our newest feature we are announcing our Top 10 Performances of 2014 by Virginia athletes. Check these out throughout the next couple days and see who and what made our list!
Nothing epitomizes dominance quite like the flawless running form of arguably the best sprinter Virginia has ever seen, Mustaqeem Williams. Though we did not get to see him in the 300 at states or outdoor track, we know he is one of the very best. His 6.26 performance was not only blazing fast and a US #1, it was shockingly easy for him. If you watch the race footage, he basically high steps his way to this time. It only makes you want to know what he would really be capable of running with tough competition at nationals or another large meet. Let's just say, Trentavious and Noah Lyles would have some big competition if he were running.
You cannot really create a list of the best performances of the entire year and not include Mus who will seriously go down as one of the best sprinters and runners our state has seen. He set the state records in outdoor track his junior year and would have bettered them this past season without a doubt. He also was a dominant jumper who could triple jump 49 feet leaving off of either foot. This performance though, the actual run itself including his form, is no doubt one of the best performances of the year and our #6.
