1. Midlothian - One of the top teams in country, the Midlothian girls are expecting even bigger things in 2007 from their 2006 season, which saw them accomplish one of the biggest feats by any team in state history by winning the Manhattan Invitational against some of the nation's best programs and then finish out with a second straight AAA state title and top ten finish at Nike Team Nationals.

Do not expect Coach Stan Morgan's Lady Trojans to be slowing down this fall as they return six of their top seven from last year and return even more outside of their seven as their eighth runner last year for instance in Erin Stehle, ran 11:18 for 3200 meters indoors. The Midlothian girls have two state champions on their roster with Kathleen Lautzenheiser and Paige Johnston (pictured right by John Herzog). Lautzenheiser, the team's number one runner last year in cross country, claimed the AAA state 1600 meter time this past June as a freshmen with her first sub 5 minute performance at 4:59.46....
