2. Speaking to that same note, Virginia will win two COA races in the same Penn Relays. This would be a first in well over ten years for the state.
Also at Penn Relays this year we are going to get a special treat courtesy of Western Branch and T.C. Williams. Both of these storied powerhouses are going to do something that we do not know if it has ever happened. That of course is winning two Championship of America (COA) relays in the same year. This year, Virginia is going to win the Girls 4x800 (Western Branch) and the Boys 4x400 against some of the toughest and roughest competition ever assembled.
To bring some outside knowledge to this lets just remind everyone that Calabar has run 3:06.76 this season already so this is a bold prediction! But, if T.C. Williams can split 48,48 then Noah go 45 and Josephus go 45 we are cooking with fire here. So keep an eye on their splits Saturday at Penn.
The girls on the other hand will come in as co-favorites with a couple Jamaican squads who will not be ready for what Western Branch is bringing. We saw Faith Ross and Amanda Thomas both split 2:09 or faster indoors, if they run the race of their life, let's just say this could be fast.
