Tallwood\'s new track fulfills young runner\'s dream

When Pam and Billy Edwards were kids, their father, Dan, would buy a lottery ticket on occasion and the siblings would wish for a rubber track.

Tallwood High School is the beneficiary of that rubber track, thanks to the Edwards family.

Two years ago, Pam Edwards took her life at age 24. The 1999 Tallwood co-valedictorian was a track and cross country runner who attended Wake Forest on scholarship and was studying for her doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School at the time of her death. The Edwards family wanted to find a way to memorialize Pam, a two-time state indoor/outdoor track champion.
