With the final phase of cross country starting up next week with championship season as the district championships for the public schools and conference and league championships for the private schools get underway, MileStat.com will be highlighting the best of the season so far. Today we look at the new faces in our state's top freshmen runners so far this cross country season.

So far this season, Brayden Burleigh (pictured above) of Midlothian looks to be the class of the 2011 class as his middle school times indicated he should be a high school great as well breaking 4:40 in the mile. Burleigh has a consistent performer for a Midlothian and finished right with some of the better upperclassmen runners in the state. Burleigh finished in the top 10 at the Great Meadow Invite with a time of 16:23 and also finished in the top 25 in a loaded Maymont Festival invitational race with a time of 16:18.
