The Southeastern District Meet could be a Western Branch show with the potential of Bruins coach Ryan Carroll to have both individual and team champions in the boys and girls races. The Western Branch girls have looked sharp this fall as a team that could possibly represent the Eastern Region well beyond the regional meet onto Great Meadow.
Top individual returners from the 2006 Southeastern District Meet are from Western Branch with last year's girls runner-up Callen Powers and seventh place boys finisher Chris Werner. Both have been leading their respective squads this fall as Powers ran a shade over 19 minutes at 19:01 at the Chesapeake Invite held at Bells Mill Park, while Werner recorded his season best of 16:28 at the Great Meadow Invite in early September.
