New Balance Nationals: VA Girls Individuals Preview

Hurdles

In the hurdle races Virginia has a few names that we know but the nation is about to learn. We have a super trio in the 100m hurdles with Milan Parks, Brandee' Johnson, and Funlayo Oluwole ready to run this weekend. Funlayo leads this stacked group with a season best of 13.38 which is good enough for #2 all-time in the state of Virginia.

In the longer hurdle race, the 400m hurdles Virginia has Naomi Whitaker, India Lowe, and Brandee' Johnson over three different heats. India Lowe of Atlee was the 5A State champion in the 300h this year and will be in section 2/5. Lowe has a unique thing she can say though, she is undefeated all-time in the 300h!

Leading the Virginia front though is definitely Brandee' Johnson, a junior from Nansemond River, who ran 41.33 or Virginia #2 all-time earlier this season in the 300h. Keep an eye on her in the unseeded section because she has some serious ability.
