Wayne Davis US #4 All-Time 55H 7.12 in prelims!
Brandon Miles of MileSplit US and MileStat.com will be providing frequent updates and results shortly after the conclusion of events at the Virginia Tech Invitational this weekend in Blacksburg, VA. Held on one of the fastest banked tracks on the East Coast, the meet annually produces many US #1 and US top 10 performances. This year's meet should be no exception. Events begin at 5 PM on Friday with field events and the prelims of the 55 meter hurdles and dashes.
Virginia Tech Invite - Day 1 Results
- Wayne Davis NC moves up on the all-time list in the 55 meter hurdles after his US #10 7.18 last weekend with a US #4 all-time 7.12 in Friday's prelims
- A great 3200 duel between Peter Dorrell VA and Kyle Satterwhite VA producing US #1 9:06.30 and US #2 9:12.20
- Two US top 5 performances in boys triple jump with a US #2 49-6 by David Wilson VA and US #5 Olu Olamigoke 48-9 (also US #7 48-6 by Corey Fuller MD)
- Dylan Ferris NC splits a 1:51.9 anchor leg in the 4x800, but it is the Thomas Edison VA boys with 1:56 legs on 2nd and 4th by the Degfae twins as 8:01.90 winners
- Emily Vannoy MD launches a US #5 45'11.50" mark in girls shot
- Justin Murdock MD, a 55 meter national leader last year, clocks in at a US #6 6.34 in Friday's prelims
- Winston Churchill outduels fellow MD girls distance powerhouse Walt Whitman in DMR for 12:26.12 win
- Nyosha Bryant NC is the fastest qualifier in the girls 55 prelims with 7.10 clocking
