Blacksburg VA senior Peter Dorrell (pictured above by John Herzog) ran a US #1 time in the 1000 meter run at his regional meet on Saturday at Virginia Tech's Rector Fieldhouse. In the Region IV Meet, Dorrell clocked in at 2:28.59 to win his first of two races on the day as he later came back and won the 3200 in 9:28. The five-time Virginia state champion now owns the fastest 1000 and second fastest 3200 (9:06.30) times in the country.
