This was the closest any competition was to Maggie Walker junior Ritchie Vaughan as she posted a state best time of 11:26.62 and won by a 40 second margin in the Virginia Invitational division's 3200 meter run.


Leading the 3200 field early is James River's Marc Azarrello.	The race quickly developed into a two man show between J.R. Tucker's Michael Chapa and Maggie Walker's Daniel Howard.

Chapa drops Howard late in the race to pull away with the win in an impressive sub 10 Ashe clocking of 9:53.90
