Due to reclassification this year is going to be very interesting. The defending 3A Champs (Lafayette Girls and Loudoun Valley Boys) are both now in 4A while the defending 4A Champs (Nansemond River Girls and I.C. Norcom Boys) moved to other classifications. This coupled with the fact that these scores are already slated to be very close makes this state meet one of the most exciting this weekend.
The real excitement though has to be with Drew Hunter entered in the 800, 3200, and as a very likely leg on the 4x800. This will arguably be his final race as a high schooler and definitely his last race in Virginia probably for at least a decade.
He is going to have competition though because Trevor Whiteside will be waiting for him in the 800. It will be very interesting to see if Whiteside forgoes the 1600 to just run the 800.
On the girls side we also have a historic showdown between Libby Davidson and Weini Kelati. Libby is your state XC course...
