Girls Top 15 XC Returning Countdown: #1 Kate Murphy

#1 Kate Murphy (Lake Braddock) 17:00

Not even Drew Hunter had quite a year in running like Kate Murphy did. She won the 6A State title in XC, the Nike SE regional title and then qualified and ran in the Olympic Trials. 

This year the bar is raised even higher as her sights are on shattering through 17:00 and potentially chasing down Aurora Scott's 16:20 state record. 

Aside from that goal she is going to have her hands full with Libby Davidson and Rachel McArthur. The question though is if she will race either of them during the regular season to give us a preview of the national meets to come. 

Kate is a speed demon but has slowly made a name for herself in XC. This is going to be a big season to see if she elects to run at Foot Locker Nationals or NXN.
