Just when we thought Heather had ran her best race of the year at Oatlands, she decided to shock the entire nation and run a 16:56 to rank third in the entire United States. This time is not only fast but it record fast for Virginia. It is the 7th fastest time ever by a VA girl, the second fastest time ever run in the state of Virginia by a Virginian and it is the fastest VA time ever in September.

Heather has really showed another gear this season. After easily winning a state title as a freshman and then losing it as a sophomore we have seen more drive and determination now as a junior. She finished 11th last year at Foot Locker South and seems to be on a path to not only win back that state title but to contend for the Foot Locker South title as well.
The DCXC course was fast and if anyone wants to dispute that distance just realize that she is just one of three girls to ever break 18:00 on the Oatlands course... that fact says it all... she is fast.
