The Monroe Parker Invite originally scheduled for Saturday, September 6 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 16 at Burke Lake's 2.98 mile course. The major change is that the number of races has now been pared down to two races, one for the boys and one for the girls. The boys race will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the girls race following at 5:15 p.m.
Each school in both the boys and girls races will have a limit of 10 entrants for each race. All of the Northern Region schools which had been originally entered for September 6 are expected to compete this Tuesday. Among the notable exceptions are Oakton, Herndon and Fairfax, all of which did not choose to enter the varsity races for the original date.
Burke Lake has specifically requested that no teams are to enter the park prior to 2:30 p.m. on September 16. The Awards ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Park personnel has also requested that all coaches, athletes and spectators must have vacated the park premises by 6:30 p.m.
