Note: MileSplit Network had some growing pains with server issues due to our increased traffic load with new state sites having been added as well as existing state sites increasing their traffic as well for a big weekend of high school cross country season across the nation. As a result, viewers had difficulty accessing the site from Saturday evening into early afternoon Sunday. At the same time, webmasters had difficulty updating the site. Please be patient as we get caught up with this weekend's meet coverage on Sunday and into the week as there was plenty of great performances to report!

A great weekend of high school cross country with two major invitationals being contested at the Oatlands Invite with 101 schools and William & Mary with 50+ schools. Out of staters in the Saratoga Springs girls of New York and Solomon Haile of Maryland dominated as expected at Oatlands, while Jamestown senior Andrew Colley clocked a sensational time of 14:47 on the 3.05 mile course at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg for the William & Mary. Wow! Talk about a close finish!
Thomas Jefferson sophomore Stephanie Marzen appeared to have a victory in sight as she approached the finish line in sight while leading the varsity B race at the Oatlands Invite on Saturday. "Not so fast," said Chantilly junior Rachel Grochowski as she closed the gap to be running right on Marzen's heels for the final 100 meters. Marzen appeared to respond to Grochowski and distance herself by a stride or two, but Grochowski made a final surge to the finish line tape to nip her at the end with both being timed at 19:43.
