Could The Jumps At The VA Showcase Be Harder to Win Than a National Title?

Keep your eyes on the boys' competition as well.

Boys' Virtual Meet

Just like in the girls' competition, the boys will have some very tough battles between the nation's best in the jumps. The boys' triple jump exemplifies this especially with Gary Williams facing off against Hasani Knight who both enter as US #1 and US #2 in the triple jump. They will be looking to shatter the 50' barrier and also win the competition that is likely to be a preview for the national championship itself.

In the boys' long jump the same guys will be attempting to double up on the medals but they will have their hands full with a whole slew of guys seeded ahead of them and right on the 24' barrier. The top seed entering the competition right now is Ty Mason Jr. seeded at 23-5.5 from MD. The next seed and someone who has already shown improvements in speed and strength is Jahkwan Blackley of Western Branch. Both guys and numerous others are going to make this a tough competition to win.

The boys' high jump could very well be filled with surprises. We won't ruin it yet but it looks like the top seed will be seeded with his 6-10 personal best and behind him is Battlefield's Xyan Xrichardson who has jumped 6-8.75.
