Boys Championship
We are in for an instant classic this weekend with long-time powerhouse FUMA facing off with the home team, St. Christopher's. Both of these teams and third ranked Woodberry Forest have all tallied up numerous team titles over the years both in XC, indoors, and outdoors. It wouldn't be a state championship without these three teams.
FUMA will need a lot of points from their stars Etta and Yescas but Duren, Perry, and the Peninsula Catholic squad will all be looking to play the spoiler role.
The meet will ultimately come down to St. Chris' performance in the field events. If they step up big time then they will walk away with the title but if they get upstaged by Woodberry, you can expect this to become a three-way race for the title. If any of these teams score 105 points you can basically close the door on anyone catching them.
Individually the athletes to watch are Harrison Rice in the pole vault, Elby Omohundro in the triple jump, and FUMA's squad in the 4x200m relay.
Our prediction for athlete of the meet: Ebruta Etta (FUMA)
Our prediction for team champion: Woodberry Forest
