The Big Storylines of The Small Schools States

Meet Page - Performance Lists - Virtual Meets

Like usual Maggie Walker headlines this meet but this year it isn't about their dominance but more-so can they win this title on a few very talented athletes. Entering the weekend both Green Dragon lineups will enter as the favorites but have their hands full with Central Woodstock on the boys side and Giles on the girls side.

Both teams trying to end Maggie Walker's streak will look for major points in the sprints while Maggie Walker looks for those points in the distance events. The real key though for all four teams will be who has the best relay depth. Those three races will definitely decide the meet.

In the 1A competition Auburn girls enter as a slight favorite over Patrick Henry while Patrick Henry leads the boys side over Covington and Auburn. Needless to say it is going to be a close battle in each of these competitions. Interestingly enough, all of these teams will be looking for points in relatively the same place so it will be a true head-to-head matchup this weekend.

This year the meet has moved from the Roanoke area up to East Rockingham High School in Elkton which is just east of Harrisonburg.

Like most years, the smaller schools may have less students but seemingly just as many big-scoring-stars. Check back for our recaps of the meets and see who scores the most points this weekend!
