Jamestown's Jordan Willis Puts Up 40 Points in State Team Title Bid

There is no other way of putting it but heroic. Jamestown's Jordan Willis rose to new heights at the state meet in a very close effort to win Jamestown the 4A team title. So close in fact it came down to the final two events and took Loudoun Valley to score 13 points in the 3200 and five in the 4x400 to win out the team title. The final score was 55.5 for Jamestown, 58.5 for Loudoun Valley, and a staggering 40 points for Jordan Willis.

Jordan's state meet effort has to go down as one of the most impressive in recent history. He tallied up 40 points but impressively did it in only four events. First up was the 4x100m relay which he helped win the title. He came back just minutes later to win the 400 in a 48.51. He closed out the track events with another win, this time in the 200m dash with a 21.80 clocking.

He wasn't only running all day but was jumping a lot too. After six attempts it was Jordan taking home the honors in the long jump at 4A states with a mark of 23.5.25.

Though ultimately his efforts were not enough to win a team title for Jamestown, he did go home with two personal bests (200/LJ) and a nice trophy for their second place finish.
