Virginia has always had speed and this year we are blessed with more than just speed, we have depth too. Moreover, we have more depth than ever before and over the next two weeks we are going to see some of the fastest times we have ever seen in the state.
We are predicting a whopping seven different guys will break the 15:00 minute barrier within the next two weeks which will include the five fast meets of MileStat, Third Battle, Wendy's, Glory Days, and Great American.
To put this into historical perspective, VA has only ever had three guys in a single year break 15:00 and that was in 2011, 2014, and most recently 2015.
This year we are predicting that more than double that amount break this barrier. In fact, we are bold predicting that we have as many sub 15:00 minute runners this year as we did in 2014, 2015, and 2016 combined!
On the following pages we list the athletes in the order that we are certain of them breaking this barrier starting with the athlete we are more sure will shatter this barrier.
