Sub 2:30 is Certainly In Isaac Alderfer's Future

Broadway senior Isaac Alderfer has had three state runner-up finishes and finished third place in the XC state championships this year. Despite those accolades, he is still hungry and ready to break through to become a sub 2:30 1K runner and state champion.

This past weekend that was very evident with his strong races at the Bulldog Invitational. He opened the day with a very strong 4x800 anchor split for the win and followed it up with a 2:33 solo 1K effort to tally up 20 team points on the day. Their 4x800 team finish was also a school record setting 8:23.61.

Already this year it has been a year of improvements for Isaac. He started in XC where he went from 8th place to 3rd at states and improved around 30 seconds on average on each XC course year over year. That really set the tone for what should be a stellar indoor track season, a season where he has already gone 2:30.10 in the 1K.

These next couple weeks will be very important for Isaac as he gears up for states and nationals. They are uncertain when his next fast 1K will be but there is a possibility of seeing him in that at the VA Showcase. After that we can almost guarantee him racing with everything he has at Roanoke College for the 3A State title.
