This may be our boldest pick but we definitely wouldn't be saying this if we didn't believe it. Grant currently ranks about 14th in the currently seeded field at New Balance Nationals for the Two Mile. He has run 9:14 this season and really has been untouchable on the track.
He would need to improve quite a bit though to have a serious shot at the title. We are talking sub 9 improvement but that is of course possible given what we have seen.
The race itself that favors him is one that is slightly easier to start but then hammers the pace for at least the final third of the race. He doesn't want to get in a all-out sprint to the line but more so a breakaway style race with just 800m to go.
