Group 2A Stars
Things are not as clear in the 2A competition. Here you have two girls who are very tough and will be fighting furiously for the athlete of meet honor. Attempting to win that honor in the distance events is Mary Caroline Heinen of Maggie Walker. In the hurdles and field events is Emilie Miller of Wilson Memorial. These two athletes could take down seven state meet records in just two days so the competition will be tough between the two.
Another big star in the 2A competition is Poquoson's Clint Gault who is chasing the 800 and 1600 meter state meet records. He is joined by Howard Divens Jr and Coy Jimenez who both are also chasing big wins and huge points this weekend.
State meet records in danger of falling this weekend are the long jump (Emilie Miller), triple jump (Aniya Seward), 100H (Emilie Miller), 100 (Emilie Miller), 1600 & 3200 (MC Heinen), 1600 (Clint Gault), 800 (Clint Gault), discus (Jocelyn Midkiff).
