Parker Albright To Represent Team USAT & Miss XC

Defending State Champion Parker Albright will not be racing cross country this season but instead will represent Team USA in the World Youth Olympic Games. This prestigious event for Triathlons features just 32 girls and 32 boys from the entire world. She qualified for this spot with her victory down in Ecuador.

Parker Albright's Athlete Profile

Parker has been a nationally elite triathlete for quite some time and in fact only picked up running to fine tune her running phase in tri's. Last year, despite a very long tri season, she won the 3A state title in what was her 4th race of the year. Her winning time was 18:25.

Though she will be missed this cross country season, she will definitely be back stronger than ever next year. This year though cannot be overstated for how important it is. This year is the only chance she has to compete in the World YOG since they are only contested once every four years.

Her training for this event has also elicited many other changes for her and her family. Since winter she has been going to school online to allow her much more training and traveling for these elite competitions. She has already competed in Brazil and Ecuador this season.

In the Ecuador qualifier she went 9:49 for the 750m ocean swim, 32:19 for the 20k bike, and brought it home in 18:17 for the 5K run. Her final time was 1:01.40.

Be sure to wish her luck and all her Endorphin Fitness teammates good luck during the summer season. She will be just the third US girl to compete at the World YOG.
