VTCA Press Release: VTCA Indoor Invitational January 12, 2019
After nearly a decade and a half high school track is returning to what was once the Mecca of High School Track in Virginia. From the mid 1960's until the mid 1980's; high school athletes from all over the state flocked to compete at the famed "Pit" at VMI. On January 12 900 athletes from Virginia and Washington, D.C. will descend on the three year old Corps Physical Training Facility to compete in the Virginia Track Coaches Association Indoor Invitational.

The meet is designed as a team developmental meet. Although not advertised as an all-star or showcase event there will be ample talent headed to Lexington. Nine out of the top twenty athletes in Virginia (as ranked by milestat.com) and at least 17 Division I commits are scheduled to compete.
VTCA is a not for profit foundation established to promote high school track and field in Virginia.
"Our organization is extremely grateful to the VMI Administration for allowing us to host this event. We are hopeful that this Invitational will do justice to this state of the art facility. I am confident that all the athletes and coaches involved will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity."
- President Mike Feldman (Osbourn Park High School)
