31 Chances For VA To Get A National Champ

Relays

Relays are almost always Team VA's specialty at New Balance Nationals. This will be the case again this year with a whopping 15 potential winners in this year's group. In that group are also quite a few potential national record breakers as well.

The first teams up that could win and break some records are the shuttle hurdle relay teams from Oscar Smith (boys), Nansemond River (girls), and Western Branch (girls). All three teams have a huge star and a lot of depth which should make this one exciting.

In a much longer event these teams will be joined by  Loudoun Valley's guys who are the defending champions in the 4xMile and 4x8. They will be also competing in the DMR but the real story will be them in the 4xMile where they are running three different teams to attempt a 1-2-3 finish.

The only team that could equal that type of dominance this weekend is Western Branch who has a Boys 4x2, Boys 4x4, Girls SMR, Girls 4x2, and Girls 4x4 that could win a national title. All of these relays have won in the last two years and have the depth to win it again. State records could also fall.

They are joined by Nansemond River's girls 4x2, Potomac Senior's boys 4x2, Bethel's boys 4x4, and West Springfield's girls 4x8 who all will on the podium with a chance at winning this weekend.
