2018 Season: The Collegiate Ranks

It was then time for Syaira to hit the collegiate ranks. She chose Ohio State as her college choice and things got off to a good start. Despite being only a freshman she was already an impact runner on her team and even helped get the Buckeyes All-American honors in the 4x4.

Outdoors though things changed.

It was this season that she didn't like the direction things were going. She had PR'd a lot indoors but outdoors she was not coming close to her high school bests. This is not completely unordinary getting used to a new training plan but for an athlete like her it was unacceptable.

In six outdoor races she did not break 12 in the 100 or 53 in the 400 and with a season best of 53.38 it was time for her to change things up.
