Ava Gordon is 100% a name to watch this season. She enters as our #12 ranked athlete preseason and as a potential top five athlete as well. She enters with a personal best of 18:28 in the 5K and 4:59 for the 1600 outdoors.
Last year as a freshman she was able to finish 4th in Class 5 States and 15th at NXN-SE. She was also 3rd indoors in the 1K and 3rd outdoors in the 3200 showing us she has a lot of range.
The sky seems to be the limit for this rising sophomore. If she can get some good competition and weather permits, she could be yet another sub 18 girl for VA.
