7 Biggest Headlines From This Weekend Last Year

2. VA Has Some Seriously Talented Freshmen

Kelsey Harrington wasn't the only star to emerge from this past weekend. That was especially the case at the Pole Green XC Classic. To put it in perspective... last year there were four freshmen girls all year under 19 minutes, this past weekend we already had one with five already under 20 minutes.

Alli Crytser was our lone frosh under 19 and finished 3rd overall in an 18:59 pr at Pole Green. Kylie Bonser of Midlo finished 8th in 19:17 and Reese Dalton ran 19:49 to finish 1st in her race.

Up in NOVA at the Judges Classic Ava Bordner and Madison Murphy also broke 20 on an incredibly tough course. Finally we also saw Emily Wolfe of Blacksburg, younger sister of state champion Kaitlynn Wolfe, bring home a 20:04 pr at Knights Crossing.

Though these times are not beating all of last year's times it should be noted that out of last year's top 50 freshmen times, only three came from the month of September and that means we can expect a lot more fast times from these young stars.
