The VHSL State XC meets are just over a week away. The information about them, their meet pages, and registration sites are below as well.
Why Is XC In The Spring?
Last summer the VHSL unanimously voted to move to the NFHS' condensed schedule of athletics. That meant running all three seasons in a smaller timeframe but unlike some states, actually contesting all three sports.
What is different about States this year?
The biggest difference will be that each classification competes on its own day. That will allow for the safest environment for competitors, coaches, fans, and officials. Each classification will be contested separately by gender and in two waves. The waves will be roughly 65% in the first wave and 35% in the second wave to adhere to state law.
Where are States?
States will be at the same location (Green Hill Park in Salem) for Class 1,2,3 while Class 4,5,6 will be moved (just for this year) to Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg since there was scheduling conflicts at Great Meadow.
