The first ever XC coach at Louisa High School, Sherman Shifflett, passed away this week at the age of 79. He founded the Louisa XC program back in 1974-75 and won the district title that same very year. Over the years he served as a coach, teacher, administrator and board member.
He coached track and football as well over his career at Louisa.
In total he spent over 53 years with Louisa County Public Schools.
