Future Stars: These Sophomores Are Present Stars

Here are some sophomores who already have made a name for themselves.


Michael Tafe (Loudoun County): He was sixth last year at states and is also the top returner from that very race. He started this season on a high note with a big PR and currently sits at VA #13 with his 15:33 season best. 

Kebryl Chandler (Parry McCluer): He was second last year at the state meet in cross country but ended up winning the 800 and 3200 meter races at outdoors. His season best 15:34 is also a personal record. He will be trying to break 15 this season if conditions work out later in the season. 

Fallon Fetterolf (Loudoun Valley): She was all-state four times last year and finished 10th overall at States. She has run well this season already posting a best of 18:33 up at Wolverine Invite. 

Alexandra Bird (James Robinson): She was 5th a year ago at states and is one of the leaders of the James W. Robinson team that is looking for the Class 6 team title this year. She owns personal bests of 18:06 (5K) and 17:42 (3 Mile).
